Dual-Credit Advantage Accelerated Option - BS Web Design to MS Computer Science

Students in the BS Web Design degree program have the option of completing five graduate Computer Science core courses as part of the undergraduate degree program.  Students selecting this option can complete both the BS degree and the graduate courses by completing 120 credits (105 undergraduate credits and 15 graduate credits).  Using the Dual-Credit Advantage, students would be able be able to take graduate courses at an undergraduate rate. Students selecting this option are not required to pursue the MS Computer Science degree.

The five graduate core courses (15 credits) needed for Computer Science are listed below and would count as five undergraduate CoT elective courses (15 credits) towards the undergraduate degree:

CSC 7002 Python Programming

CSC 7003 Algorithms and Advanced Data Structures

CSC 7004 Intro to Data Science - or - CSC 7005 Principles of Software Engineering

CSC 7006 Ethics in Digital World

CSC 7020 Theories of Artificial Intelligence - or - CSC 7040 Software Engineering Methodologies

 

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Completion of at least 60 credits towards the BS Web Design degree;
  2. A minimum GPA of 3.25;
  3. Meet with an academic advisor to submit an Accelerated Option Intent (AOI) form upon the completion of at least 30 credits; and
  4. Recommendation of the Program Chair

Students will not be eligible to register for graduate level courses until they have successfully completed at least 60 credits towards their Web Design degree and have an approved AOI form.
