Smoke-Free Policy
In order to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, the following Wilmington University owned properties are designated as tobacco free:
- New Castle Campus
- Dover
- Brandywine
- Wilson Graduate Center
- and the Sports Complex.
Tobacco products, which includes smoking, is prohibited within the boundaries of the previously mentioned locations including all buildings, facilities, indoor and outdoor spaces. This policy applies to parking lots, walkways, sidewalks and sports venues.
For the purpose of this policy, tobacco products are defined as snuff, chewing tobacco, smokeless tobacco, and similar products; smoking is defined as the inhalation of smoke in the form of cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, pipe, bidis, hookahs, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) and/or similar devices. The enforcement of this policy is intended to be educational, but repeat violators may be subject to disciplinary action.
