Wilmington University Named to Multiple Best Online Colleges Lists for 2016-17
Wilmington University has been named one of the nation’s best colleges for online learning by AffordableCollegesOnline.org (ACO), a leader in higher education information, resources and rankings. Wilmington University was recognized five times by ACO, which generated their rankings by analyzing cost and quality metrics of thousands of U.S. colleges with online degree programs.
"We wanted to honor the colleges and universities setting the bar for online learning," said Dan Schuessler, CEO and Founder of AffordableCollegesOnline.org "These schools are going above and beyond the industry standard to help make online education programs higher quality and more affordable.”
Only not-for-profit institutions were eligible for the ranking. The primary data points used to identify the Best Online Colleges of 2016 include regional accreditation, in-state tuition and fees, school-based financial aid, student-teacher ratio and number of online programs.
Wilmington University’s most notable rankings include the following state and national lists:

#16 Best Online Doctorate Degrees
ACO has distinguished its ranking scale by using a peer-based value metric, or PBV. A “bang for your buck” metric, the PBV compares the cost of a program to the cost of other programs with the same (or similar) qualitative score. It also compares the qualitative score of the program to the score of other programs with the same (or similar cost).

AffordableCollegesOnline.org was started in 2011 to provide potential and other students with quality data and information with regard to pursuing an affordable higher education. It offers free community resource materials and tools spanning topics such as financial aid and college savings, opportunities for veterans and people with disabilities, and online learning resources. The site specifically features higher education institutions that have developed online learning environments that include highly trained faculty, new technology and resources, and online support services to help students achieve educational and career success.
