Dr. Julius Mullen and Natasha Mullen
The Dynamic Duo
Altruistic adjuncts abound.
Longtime WilmU adjuncts DR. JULIUS MULLEN and his wife, NATASHA MULLEN, have dedicated their lives to service for more than 15 years and recently won
the annual Jefferson Award for extraordinary public service. Mullen is the chief clinical officer at Children & Families First of Delaware. Natasha is the behavioral health consultant coordinator for Prevention and Behavioral Health Services for the State of Delaware.
Nominations are anonymous, but the couple believes they were recognized for IMPACT Leadership, their gender-based program that offers mentoring for at-risk youth. IMPACT’s participants have all graduated from high
school, and 96 percent have gone to college, found gainful employment or enlisted in the military. The nonprofit has been successful for 15 years. And with new nonprofits springing up regularly, says Mullen, “We stand out due to our sustainability.”
The duo has spent more than 10 years teaching graduate and undergraduate courses and have earned a collective five degrees from WilmU: Natasha has a a bachelor’s in Business Management and a master’s in Educational Counseling. Mullen has a bachelor’s in Behavioral Science, a master’s in Educational Counseling, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. WU
