After successfully completing the program's five required courses, you will be able to apply for a State of Delaware Standard Certificate as an ESOL Teacher.
You’ll apply current research and best practices, and learn strategies to support students as they learn English and subject-specific content. The program is designed to meet four sets of professional standards: Delaware Professional Teaching Standards (DPTS), Teachers of English Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
