In the current economy many Americans have found themselves looking for full-time employment, trying to find better employment, or making a career change. This process can be stressful, nerve-racking, time consuming and leave you feeling helpless. Wilmington University would like to help, which is why the Career Services Department in conjunction with the College of Business, is holding a ‘Going Back to Work’ Seminar on Saturday, October 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The seminar, which is part of the University’s ‘Transition with Options’ series, is free and open to the public. The event will be held in the Doberstein Admissions Center at the New Castle campus and will include a free continental breakfast.

“We created the ‘Transition with Options’ series as a way to help our students successfully transition from school to the workplace and from the workplace back into the classroom,” said Dr. Regina Allen-Sharpe, Director of Career Services at Wilmington University, “This ‘Going Back to Work’ seminar will feature two break out sessions. The first session will involve job search strategies and the second will feature resume writing tips.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring their resume. “In the last hour of the event local employers and career development professionals will be on hand to critique your resumes and give tips on how to improve your format in order to identify and market your skills,” said Dr. Allen-Sharpe, “This should be a great event and a great way to give back to the community.”
