Wilmington University Partners with CBS 3 for the Second Annual "Joy of Sharing" Toy Drive
University and local community can donate new, unwrapped toys at nine WilmU locations.
Wilmington University’s "Joy of Sharing," an annual toy drive in collaboration with Philadelphia CBS 3 and the Salvation Army, began on November 28. All Wilmington University locations and surrounding communities come together with CBS 3 to help the Salvation Army in its effort to provide holiday gifts for underprivileged children.
The last day for the toy drive is December 18.
Everyone is encouraged to donate a new, unwrapped toy by dropping it in any of the special collection bins at the following University locations: New Castle, Wilson Graduate Center, Dover, Dover Air Force Base, Brandywine, Middletown, Georgetown, Burlington County College, Cumberland County College and Joint Base-McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
“We are very excited to partner again this year with CBS 3 Philly and the Salvation Army for our second Joy of Sharing toy drive,” said Jacque Varsalona, Assistant Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Wilmington University. "We collected over 800 toys last year!
"The toy drive really is a lot of fun. With the help of our students, staff, faculty, and alumni, we hope to see the same level of generosity this year, if not greater. It feels especially good to know that Wilmington University is bringing joy to so many families again this holiday season.”
