Wilmington University Online Ranked #2 "Technologically Savvy" School

OnlineSchoolsCenter.com ranking reflects the top thirty online colleges and universities.

In a report released on July 1, 2014, OnlineSchoolsCenter.com ranked Wilmington University as number 2 out of the "30 Most Technologically Savvy Online Schools."

In comments about the ranking, writer Luke Patton states, "Adults with less time on their hands hoping to gain college or university qualifications have an increasing number of online institutions from which to choose. And for those trying to squeeze in an education around work or family commitments, it’s important to have the latest technology at one’s fingertips."

“There are in excess of 80 fully online classes offered ... " Patton includes in his review. "Each virtual classroom is kept to an average of 17 learners fostering a ‘personalized’ educational experience with easy communication between instructors and peers."

Sallie Reissman, Senior Director of Online Learning & Education Technology at the University is pleased with the independent ranking, stating, "Our online technological capability is made possible in no small part by the teams of people who work with it on a daily basis to continuously improve the students' experience with online learning at the University. Their innovative thinking and deep understanding of the needs of remote student are the backbone of Wilmington University online."

In addition to 24-hour technical assistance, Patton also noted that Wilmington University online students benefit from monthly webinar meetings with the online student association via Blackboard Collaborate as well as the use of Kaltura for uploading advanced multimedia content. 

The University's online software capabilities help to make a wide array of services available to online students, ranging from tutoring and mentoring to writing workshops. The faculty's use Blackboard and Swivl complete a full communication loop that enriches the online learning experience for instructors as well.
