Wilmington University Graduate Earns Outstanding Educator Award
Gretchen Massey, registered nurse and Wilmington University alumna, is the recipient of the 2012 Geraldine Webb Palladino Outstanding Educator Award for her commitment to the nursing profession.
Massey currently works as a clinical coordinator at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover, Delaware. She began her nursing career as an LPN at Kent General in 1990. Since then, she earned both her RN and BSN degrees from Wilmington University.
Massey frequently mentors other nurses. She received the award for her dedication and passion for the nursing profession, which includes teaching by example.
“It’s wonderful to see the younger generation of nurses grow and to be a part of that growth,” Massey said. “Sharing my knowledge and experience with these nurses means we can work together to create more positive patient outcomes.”
