Wilmington University’s Rehoboth Beach Site Receives the 2008 Service To Youth Award

Wilmington University’s Rehoboth site was honored last month at the Sussex Family YMCA’s ‘Strong Kids Campaign Thank You Dinner’ for their dedication to the youth of Sussex County. The University received the 2008 Service to Youth Award and received a plaque for their efforts.

Since the Rehoboth site opened in 1999 Wilmington University has provided the YMCA summer camp youth with opportunities to utilize their computer lab free of charge. A Wilmington University instructor provides the youth with instruction on creating a variety of computer related projects that are both education and fun.

This is the second award Wilmington University has received from the YMCA. In 2002 the University’s Rehoboth Site won the Building Strong Kids award.
