There is a Full-Time position available immediately in the University Safety Department at Wilmington University's New Castle location.
Educational Requirements: Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Additional Requirements: Current COPT certification, DELJIS Certification and/ or State Constable License is required with a minimum of (1) year of job related experience. Must have excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented, the ability to work with diverse populations, self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation is a must. Must have a working knowledge of alarms system operations and all functions. Must also have a strong working knowledge of CCTV systems including monitoring, saving and reviewing material. Must also have the ability to administer CPR/First Aid/AED.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): Oversee day-to-day security and safety operations, scheduling constables and private security agents. Assure that the University is in compliance with the conditions set forth in the Clery Act. Oversee and assist with manual traffic direction during peak hours and at special events. Maintain a working knowledge of all alarm systems as well as the alarm code assignment procedures. Maintain site SOP’s (standard operating procedures) and assures compliance by all University and private security contractors. Review reports submitted by University Safety personnel and private security providers. Maintain liaison with private service providers specific to the area of University Safety. Prepare daily briefing for the Assistant Director of University Safety. Assist with preparation and review of emergency operations and participate in all drills and exercises. Perform other duties which may be assigned by the Executive Director of University Safety.
Hours of Employment: Monday – Friday, 9:30am– 5:30pm (Must be flexible with hours)
