Elementary and Secondary School Counseling Mandatory New Student Orientation
You are beginning a very exciting time in your life. As a new student at Wilmington University, we want to help you achieve your academic and professional goals. Therefore, we require all new students to participate in a New Student Orientation session for the Master of Education in School Counseling Program. This scheduled activity is considered a program planning conference and is required to meet full admissions criteria to become a student with a MEC major. Follow-up individual sessions may be requested by students or suggested by the program coordinator/advisor at the site of attendance.
As a first year graduate student beginning your school counseling experience this term, you are strongly encouraged to attend. The session will cover:

- Program Goals & Competencies
- Program Design & Requirements
- Academic Advisement & Program Planning
- Important Issues for MEC Students
- Student’s Rights & Responsibilities
- College Resources
We are offering New Student Orientation sessions at the Wilson Graduate Center.
The scheduled sessions for the 2008 Fall Semester are:

It is very important that a new MEC student attends. Please arrive early to sign in.
The goals of our New Student Orientation are to assist you in your transition into the institution and to provide information that ensures your success. This is consistent with the University’s mission that students will realize their potential, further their ambitions, and improve their lives.
