ACT 48

Wilmington University and The State of Pennsylvania

On November 23,1999 ACT 48 was signed into law and enacted new requirements for professional education (formerly professional development) in the State of Pennsylvania. This legislation requires that all certified educators complete six college credits, six credits of continuing professional education courses, 180 clock hours of continuing professional education, or any combination of collegiate studies, continuing professional education courses or learning experiences equivalent to 180 hours every five years.

Because Wilmington University is an approved provider of Higher Education for the State of Pennsylvania, coursework from the University will satisfy ACT 48 requirements when applicable. To expedite such certification, students must obtain an official transcript from Wilmington University upon completion of the course(s).

Transcripts should be sent to:

Pennsylvania Department of Education
Division of Professional Education and Planning
333 Market Street—8th Floor
Harrisburg, PA 17126
