Certificate in Construction Management

The Certificate in Construction Management is designed to prepare construction tradespeople and construction workers who have completed an apprenticeship or have related experience for supervisory and management careers in the construction industry.  This certificate includes in-depth discussions of applying motivational leadership, managing teams, recognizing and working within different organizational cultures, and effective negotiation and public speaking skills.  This certificate also includes details of effective project management, concepts of accounting and finance as they apply to the construction industry, and the functions of the human resources department, including OSHA regulations, compliances, and the laws governing the construction industry.

BBM 105 Introduction to Construction Management

BBM 371 Employee Relations for Construction Managers

BBM 372 Construction Accounting and Financial Management

BBM 373 Construction Site Safety

BBM 374 Law and Regulation in Construction Management

BBM 375 Construction Project Management

Students who have an apprenticeship in Construction Management, or who have obtained prior approval for construction industry experience by the program Chair, are not required to take BBM 105 Introduction to Construction Management.

Up to six (6) transfer credits will be accepted for the Construction Management Certificate.
