#12 Men's Soccer Completes Undefeated CACC Regular Season With 3-1 Win Over Post

The 12th ranked Wildcats of Wilmington University completed an undefeated regular season in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with a 3-1 victory over the visiting Eagles of Post University in men’s soccer action on Wednesday afternoon at the Kirkwood Complex.

Post struck first, when Maurice Johnson tallied an unassisted goal at the 17:40 mark. The Wildcats tied the game during the 36th minute as junior Joe Stant finished a through ball from classmate Jorge Zapata. The game-winner came during the 59th minute as senior Probyn Allen knocked home a corner kick from classmate Fatoma Turay. Sophomore Nickalus McDonald added an insurance goal at the 69:12 mark, off a through pass from Zapata.

Wilmington’s Duhan Malali (13-0) recorded seven saves in goal, while Errol Reid had four saves for Post. The Wildcats out-shot the Eagles by a 12-11 margin and held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.

With the win, Wilmington closed out their regular season at 11-0 in the CACC and 18-2 overall, while Post dropped to 6-4-1 in the conference and 7-8-2 on the season. The Wildcats won the CACC regular season title, and are the #1 seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament. Wilmington hosts the #8 seed Goldey-Beacom College on Monday at the Kirkwood Complex at 3:00 PM.
