Wilmington University is pleased to announce that cross-country standouts Danielle Burcham (C. Milton Wright HS/Bel Air, MD) Bill Steele (Rising Sun HS/Conowingo, MD), along with volleyball’s Meghan Frick (James W. Robinson HS/Fairfax, VA) and men’s soccer star Sargbah Tarpeh (Overbrook HS/Philadelphia, PA) have been awarded Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly honors for their performances last week.
Burcham, a senior harrier, was named the CACC Female Runner of the Week, after claiming the CACC Title when she won the women’s race at the conference championship for the second consecutive season. The only female runner to break 20 minutes (19:52:68), she helped the Wildcats to a fifth place showing.
Steele, a freshman runner, earned CACC Male Rookie of the Week honors, after finishing as the top rookie at the CACC Championship. He finished the 6k course in third place, turning in a time of 27:48:56, and helped the ‘Cats to a second place team finish.
Frick, a junior outside hitter on the volleyball team, was awarded CACC weekly honors, as she led Wilmington to a 3-0 week. She averaged 4.67 digs and 2.08 kills per set. In a 3-1 win over Concordia, Frick posted 10 kills and 24 digs, and in a 3-0 victory over Goldey-Beacom she recorded seven kills and 22 digs.
Tarpeh, a senior forward on the men’s soccer team, earned CACC weekly honors, as he recorded two goals and one assist in a 3-0 week to extend Wilmington’s win streak to 13 games. He notched two goals in the team’s 2-0 win over #18 Dominican College.
